Manners has the expertise to manufacture a wide range of reusable needles at competitive prices and delivery. Pencil tip needle assemblies have a cannula consisting of a closed tapered end, usually with one or two circular coaxial holes near the needle tip, attached to a hub. These needles are commonly used to irrigate, dispense or extract precise amounts of gases, pastes or liquids through side ports in industrial, laboratory and medical applications. These needles have a wide range of end uses, from application tools on factory assembly lines to components of spinal surgical equipment. Pencil tips are produced using a process called rotary forging, which reduces the outer and inner diameter of the tube, a cold forming process that can be applied to almost any alloy that can be worked. Most commonly, casing is produced using 304 or 316 stainless steel tubing. The tip provides a tip that can pierce a membrane or septum without coring or plugging the lumen of the cannula and, in some cases, creating a self-sealing entry. In most cases, the angle of the swaging point is 12 degree -15 degree , but other geometric requirements can be viewed. Typically, pencil-pointed needles come with ¼" or ⅛" NPT hubs; however, Manners also offers a variety of other hub styles to choose from, including Luer locks and other threaded connections.
